at 10:53 PMBest Ways to See Vienna
at 2:15 AMThe little bites can include the delicious Sacher cake found in Austria and of course, coffee to make your taste buds realise what they have been missing!

If it's views you want, there is no better place for a fantastic view than when you climb the spiral staircase found in Saint Stephen's Cathedral.
This magnificent, historic building dates all the way back to the 13th Century and from the top of the North Tower you will be totally amazed at the panorama before you. You have before you a glorious combination of wooded areas, parklands and marvelous buildings, with the Danube River winding its way through this magnificent landscape.
The city of Vienna has over 50 churches, with religious site like Neo-Gothic Votivkirche, Baroque Dominikanerkirche and the Peterskirche all worth visiting to soak up the great historical significance of these beautifully preserved sites.
In fact, in the Peterskirche, you will find a gilded, ornate pulpit with a supreme sculpture which represents the Holy Trinity, a beautiful and important work of art.
You will very quickly become engrossed in the great history of this enthralling city, and the hands of time will not allow you enough to fill your curiosity.
Therefore, regular trips back to Vienna will ensure that you will see how well the many historical attractions have combined with the modern needs and demands of the 21st century.
The Castle known as Casa de Hermesvilla is a truly brilliant piece of architecture nestling in the middle of the former imperial hunting grounds. The castle has been aptly named "The Palace of Dreams". Emperor Francis Joseph built the castle for his wife.
Schloss Schondbruun castle has 1,441 rooms, of which 40 are open to the public. This castle also houses a wonderful Botanic garden, which is also open to the public.
The Austrian National library is well worth a visit as are many other historical sites.
As you walk through the streets of Vienna, you will realise that the architecture and design of some of these great buildings is just "jaw dropping". The painstaking attention to detail is a joy to behold, and found on many buildings.
When you are not viewing the great historical buildings of Vienna, you could be relaxing in some of the huge green parklands which themselves house sculptures, statues and palaces.
Without knowing it, you will suddenly find yourself on the Ringstrasse with buildings going back to the 19th Century. This wide avenue embraces the entire "old" town of Vienna itself. Other streets have a history that date back to Ancient Roman times.
Vienna has many Institutes, the most notable being the Institute for Advanced Studies. The focus here is on the study of Social Science.
The House of Music is found in the very centre of this ancient of cities. Recently it opened its doors to help people from all walks of life discover more about music in a unique and memorable way.
The Museum of Natural History and the Fine Arts Museum are both worth spending time in; just to further help your understanding of the people of Vienna and its unique and outstanding buildings.
There are many other experiences to discover whilst in Vienna, and in particular you must not forget the Spanish Riding School, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Boys Choir and the Theatre an der Wien... to name but a few.
To make your trip as relaxed as possible, it is always worth looking at renting one of the well presented and well maintained holiday rental apartments you find in Vienna. They give you many advantages over hotels, and allow you to soak up more of the culture and ambiance of this extremely pleasing and comfortable city.
New York City in December
at 2:13 AMDecember is the most wonderful time of the year, and a wonderful time to visit New York City! Show off your best moves on the Rockefeller Center skating rink by the twinkling lights of the spectacular Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Shopping, shows and New Year's Eve in Times Square are just some of the fun things to do in the city during the festive holiday season.

The Tree at Rockefeller Center
The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree at 50th Street and 5th Avenue is a beloved New York tradition and a must-see Manhattan holiday attraction. Located at Rockefeller Plaza (which spans from 48th and 50th Streets between 5th and 6th Avenues) the branches of towering tree are circled in thousands of twinkling eco-friendly lights. The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony typically takes place in late November or early December. The televised star-studded event features ice-skating performances on the ice rink and draws thousands of spectators.
Skating at Rockefeller Center
The Ice Rink at Rockefeller Center opens in mid-October, but it's a particularly wonderful winter experience for travellers visiting New York in December. That's because in December, visitors and New Yorkers alike can glide and twirl around the ice under the towering sparkling beauty of the Rockefeller Center tree, just like a scene out of a movie! Rent skates or bring your own, and be prepared to wait during peak times as only 150 skaters are permitted on the rink at once. Skaters can stop for a bite at the Rock Center Café, located right by the ice. The world-famous rink is accessible from 5th Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets.

New Year's Eve in Times Square
Planning to spend New Year's Eve in New York City? Consider heading to Times Square to watch the iconic New Year's Eve Ball drop at 11:59p.m. This symbol of New York City draws a crowd of up to a million to Times Square each year, and the vibrant celebration includes fun freebies such as confetti bags, pom-poms and balloons. Revellers will enjoy a festive firecracker display and exciting performances by top entertainers. The new Times Square New Year's Eve Ball is covered in thousands of Waterford crystals, creating a stunning kaleidoscope of colours and patterns as it makes its descent from its perch on a flagpole at the top of One Times Square.
New York City is a fantastic shopping destination any time of year, but the bonus of visiting in December is getting to do your holiday shopping while taking in the incredible holiday storefront windows at shops like Macy's, Sak's Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's. A couple of tips - keep in mind that December is peak travel season in New York City, so arrange travel plans well in advance, and remember to bundle up as the weather is typically quite chilly.
Bus Travel in Granada
at 2:11 AMThe best option for getting about in Granada is by bus or taxi. Driving in the town centre is not recommended as the streets are highly congested and most tourist areas are pedestrianised. There are several regular bus routes which cover the main areas of the city, but if you are planning on seeing the main sights, including the Albaicin and the Alhambra it is best to do this on foot.

Granada's bus station is at Carretera de Jaen s/n which is on the continuation of Avenida de Madrid, 3km north west of the centre. You can get to the bus station from the city centre on bus number 3 and 33, and from the Sports Centre bus number 10. All bus services operate from here except for a few to nearby destinations including Fuente Vaqueros, Viznar and the Estacion de Esqui Sierra Nevada.
One of the most popular bus routes is number 3 which runs from the main bus station to Gran Vía de Colón in the city centre. In addition, bus numbers 4, 6, 7, 9 and 11 run from the railway station into the city centre. You can also buy a 21-journey ticket, which is ideal if staying outside the city - details below.
The following bus companies operate from Granada Bus Station:
Alsa offers services to cities including A Coruña, Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Malaga, Marbella, Nerja, Lanjaron, Almunecar and Seville. Website: alsa.es

The Granada bus station has 28 platforms and information screens that provide information on all the arrivals and departures.
There is also a restaurant and cafe at Granada Bus Station. The restaurant has a large dining room and offers a three course daily menu while the cafeteria sells sandwiches and snacks.
If you are flying into Granada Airport it is 12km from the city centre and there is a bus which takes you into the city centre. They run at regular intervals coinciding with the flight arrivals and cost €3 single fare. From Granada the buses depart from Palacio de Congresos at 05:20, 06:25, 07:45, 10:00, 11:00, 12:99, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 and 20:00 and from the airport they leave at the same times from outside the arrivals hall, It is a short journey and there are just 7 stops from the Airport - Bus Station - La Caleta - Jardines del Triunfo - Gran Vía - Cathedral - Puerta Real - Palacio de Congresos. What is So Special About Las Vegas' Mystere Show?
at 2:07 AMCirque du Soleil's Mystere show is one of my all time favorites. It is like being awake during one of your most bizarre and wonderful dreams.

This Las Vegas show begins with some classic entertainment. Two clowns come out and play tricks on the audience and on each other. It starts the show off on a very light hearted note and helps to kill the time while the audience is being seated. One side note though. If either of these jokesters tries to direct you to your seat, hold on to tickets or remember where you are actually seated for they will take you on a wild goose chase.
Then the show begins and the real magic starts to happen. There are acrobats and bicyclists and music so beautiful and haunting that you will be absolutely mesmerized. At all times there is something to see, no matter which direction you look. You will see athletic skill unlike anything you have ever experienced and the sets and costumes are breath-takingly beautiful.
And the whole thing does seem like some surreal dream or like you have just stepped into the mind of Salvadore Dali. There are graceful ballerinas and gigantic Snails, dashing heroes and total buffoons. Half the time you will be mesmerized and the other half you will be laughing yourself silly, as the clowns distract you from the ever changing scene changes that happen right in front of your eyes.
If you have never seen a Cirque du Soleil show before then make this one your first. And if you have seen the others, this one is still worth going to. It is not the aquatic splendor of O or the Beatlemania of Love but instead seems to be the perfect cameo of what a Cirque show should be. I love this show because, although it is still a big production, it has a wonderful sense of intimacy to it. It is like you are being privy to a private show or an intimate glimpse into a magical world.
Out of all of the Cirque shows, this one would be the most appropriate if you are bringing your children, as well. The mystical quality is one that will enchant them and yet it is definitely not a "kids show." The performances are all top quality and the experience is one that can definitely be appreciated by all ages.
